Abstract: To deal with the coordination problem of supply chain with consumer return under uncertain demand, two coordination policies with and without consumer return in the decision making process were proposed. The two-echelon supply chain consisting of a single supplier and a single retailer was studied, and its discrete decision models with consumer return under uncertain demand based on two supply chain coordination policies were constructed. Realization conditions for optimal decision under two coordination policies were compared. For any customer demand distribution with strictly increasing cumulative distribution function, the supply chain was better coordinated when consumer returns were not considered in the decision making process. The buy back contract mechanism was designed to coordinate supply chain with consumer return. A numerical experiment was presented to illustrate the influence of the parameters on supply chain under two coordination policies.
