Abstract: To support collaborative design of complex products and satisfy the requirements of knowledge exchange and sharing cross various organizations and departments, a uniform framework for product shared information based on the static structure and dynamic characteristics of complex product was proposed. Based on the proposed model, to overcome shortcomings of Web Ontology Language(OWL)on describing dynamic characteristics, a new product knowledge description language extended from OWL, i.e., Ontology Web Language-Oriented Process(OWL-P), was put forward, as well as a corresponding parse tool. An example for describing the static structure and dynamic characteristics of missile was presented，which verified the query and reasoning ability of the proposed OWL-P.
