Abstract: To realize the application of Model-Based Definition(MBD)technology in process planning, the process MBD model was taken as basic unit to construct process-oriented MBD model by considering the intermediate state of part manufacturing, which geometry and process information of the model was integrated by machining feature. Process model was taken as carrier to built a MBD process information model. Through multi-view method, three dimensional annotation was divided and administrated by process type and procedure of process planning. Further more, the process model was divided into three layers：geometry layer, extension layer and application layer. A process instance was provided to illustrate the application of the method in three dimension process planning system.
