保持特征的高质量三角网格简化方法

Abstract: To solve the problem of storage and transmission of 3D geometric model with huge data,a high quality triangular mesh simplification algorithm was proposed.The folding point of every triangle was determined by vertices projection method,and the costs of all collapse operations were calculated according to the folding points.The iterative simplification procedure was made based on the costs.The experiment results showed that the presented simplification algorithm could generate the high quality simplified model and reduce the error of the simplified model whilst preserving the sharp geometric features of the original model.

摘要: 为解决三维几何模型的庞大数据量给存储、传输等带来的困难,提出一种保持特征的高质量三角网格简化方法。通过顶点投影确定模型中各三角形的折叠点,根据折叠点计算各三角形折叠时产生的误差,按照误差值的大小对模型进行三角形折叠简化。实验结果表明,该网格简化方法在生成高质量简化模型的同时降低了简化模型的误差,并有效地保持了原始模型的几何特征。
