Abstract: To handle the time exception in workflow operation, the requirements of time exception handling in workflow operations were analyzed. Time exception handling and interrelated activities of time constraint in workflow were defined. Also classification method for time exception handling in workflow and an algorithm of time exception spread were presented. Then, a feasible method for time exception handling in workflow was proposed. This method could predict the potential time exception arose from the activity delay exception and handle them before they actually took place. The method was implemented and validated through a real workflow management system. In this system, some operation steps and algorithm of the method aiming to this special field were provided.
