Abstract: To solve the problem of conflict resolution case reasoning in collaborative design, a rough set-based case reasoning strategy was presented. In this strategy, the theory and methods of attribute importance within rough set were applied to define the weight of each feature attribute of the case; the theory and methods of knowledge reduction was applied to define the index of the case knowledge base. The algorithm for calculating weight and index, and the measurement method for case similarity were provided. Original cases which were correlative with the target case could be retrieved according to the index, and those which had the maximum similarity degree were chosen to be taken as the reference for the conflict solution of the target case. Finally, the availability of this strategy was demonstrated by analyzing an application illustration.
