Abstract: To solve the problems of knowledge level and correlation analysis and expression in product fault knowledge reuse,the abstract relationship of product fault knowledge was analyzed from abstraction process perspective to propose a modeling method based on abstract relationship.Abstract process model,abstractness evaluation model and abstract grade space model for product fault knowledge abstraction were built.On this basis,the knowledge extraction method based on abstract relationship model and the knowledge organization and reuse method based on abstract relationship model were presented.A fault diagnosis process of a certain brand of automobile engine was taken as an example to discuss the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed approach.
