Abstract: To improve traditional project management methods, a conflict resolution strategy in identifying the critical chain of the project by using the contribution index coming from the statistical theory was proposed. To realize smooth implementation of project scheduling under uncertain environment, the randomness of the project procedure during the project execution process was taken into consideration in this method. Based on the strategy, a new critical chain identification method was introduced. Finally, based on one standard instance from the well known PSPLIB benchmark set, simulation evaluation to this method in Matlab environment was presented.
