Abstract: To deal with information island problems in networked manufacturing environment, a grid mode was proposed to integrate the existing networked manufacturing platforms to realize large-scale distributed resource sharing and collaboration. The concept of networked manufacturing platform federation was put forward, and a three-dimension integration framework was advanced. The Federation Integration Architecture (FIA) and the Federation Executive Infrastructure (FEI) for integrating networked manufacturing platforms based on Application Service Provider (ASP) were discussed in detail. Key solving technologies were studied, including dynamic resource information transmission based on data filtering mechanism, distributed scheduling of shared resources cross platforms, distributed federation management with autonomous structures, authorization and encryption solutions cross platforms, and distributed data synchronization of dynamic sharing resources. Finally, an application example was given.
